Michael Manahan – Regulate The Deep

Some deep, deep house vibes with a gothic twist coming all the way from Seattle, Washington, where Michael Manahan has, it says here, been a stalwart of the local scene for the past 20 years.

Regulate The Deep features an ethereal female vocal from Ilen Halogen that veers towards Cocteau Twins/This Mortal Coil/Bjork territory as, on the House Mix, sub-aquatic synth sounds, crisp beats and warm low-end piano chords bubble away underneath. Neiro's remix is in a more obviously floor-friendly deep house style, Jordan Strong's Moonflower Remix adds a little extra bump n' jack, while Pezzner serves up a slow-building I Can Breathe Remix that'll be just perfect for warm-up play.

If you like your deep house musical, sonically dense and a little left-of-centre, you'll love this.
